2010 Blog Book done!

I've discovered the secret to motivating myself to get blog books printed. Buy a Groupon for an online photo book website. A Groupon is a coupon that you purchase. For example, I paid $15 for $50 worth of photo books from Mixbook. (FYI - That buys half of a 51 page 12x12 hard cover photo album.) Not too bad, I think. The catch is that they expire. I procrastinate the project until a week before the Groupon expires and then force myself to finish it. I just finished the 2nd part of Our Young Shoot Chloe. The first book was her first five months - birth through the day she came home from the NICU. That was 1/18/10. This second book is the rest of 2010.

I really want these blogs to become cherished collections of memories for the girls. Plus, I think it'll be cool for them to read my thoughts years later when they're older. I'm recently interested in genealogy and can only dream of how cool it would be to have something like this from my grandmother or great-grandmother. Hopefully, they'll hang on to these and pass them on to their kids. I'm thrilled to have printed the first two books. I've already purchased two more Groupons that expire this year. I should get caught up on printing blog books before the year ends. Yay!

Well done!! I have the same hopes for my blog books! Can you imagine how much fun it would be to read from your mom's perspective of your own childhood? Just the little moments of life -- now they are imortalized! It will be interesting to see how my writing changes as the kids get older -- I think I'll me more careful to remember that older children can be embarassed and maybe their pooping habits would be taboo ;) But for now - I'll enjoy writing about potty training and pee pee accidents :)

That's a great idea because I stink at Completing my books. I haven't even printed Grant's 1st year book. Maybe I'll divide it up like you did...1-6months, and 7-12 months.

Oh wow! I first saw this post on my iPhone and didn't see the book you put on the post. When I pulled up your post on the desktop to see if you had a new post I saw the book. Love it.

I thought about you and your blog books the other day because I got an email from CaringBridge reminding me that I could create a book from K's site. I don't think I'm ready for that. Just not sure I am emotionally ready to travel back there. BUT, she'll be a year in three months, and I have no idea how long they preserve sites, so I'd better get over myself and get on it!
