Brewmeister Dave!

Dave is brewing beer! He started his first batch a couple of weeks ago. Yesterday he transferred his Irish Red Ale from one carboy to another for its secondary fermentation. I bought him his brewers kit from a company called Northern Brewers. It came with a video. After watching the video we decided that you have to be a major nerd to brew beer. At least, that's what the video implies. Well, Dave may be a big ol' nerd. But at least he's a hot one!

Here's the beer in its original carboy. See all the gunk at the bottom? There's a name for it but I'm not a beer nerd so I couldn't tell you what it is. He needs to move all the beer from this carboy to another one and leave the gunky stuff behind.
Gravity is doing its job and he has to make sure the beer doesn't splash into the second carboy. Air is bad for beer.

You can really see the transfer happening in this shot. And check out Dave's tattoo. He got it last year on our anniversary. The moon is for me because Cynthia was the greek goddess of the moon and there are two stars above the moon for Chloe and Leila. (He has a big sun on the other arm for Solana).

I was waiting for the taste review. Good beer? And is the kit as big as it looks?

1. Nerds would never brew beer - they would brew something nerdy, like grape koolaid (no offense to grape koolaid)

2. Is that your living room he's brewing the beer in? Not the garage? Awesome! Can't wait for what Solena tells her teacher at school "my house has a couch, table, and keg!"

3. Nerds don't have tatoos either...unless they are something nerdy like the symbol Pi. I think you are safe from being classified as nerd family. Paaaaaar-ty!

Mel - I'll let you know the taste in 4 weeks. That's how long we have to wait for the beer to be ready!

Jen - You're killing me! Pi?!? Hahahaha! And that's not our living room. It's the "fireplace room" - like a family den. His beer has to live in the guest bedroom because the garage is too cold :-)

Um, people who brew beer are not nerds at all.

And if he really gets into this, I recommend buying a kegerator (sp?) - it is SO much easier to keg homebrew than to bottle.

With havin so much сontent do you ever run іnto
аny ρгоblemѕ of ρlаgoriѕm or copyright viοlation?
My blog hаѕ а lοt of сomplеtelу unique сontent I've either created myself or outsourced but it looks like a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my permission. Do you know any ways to help stop content from being ripped off? I'd definіtеly apprecіаtе it.
